The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch."Finally, by the Eucharistic celebration we already unite ourselves with the heavenly liturgy and anticipate eternal life, when God will be all in all. (CCC 1324,1326)
The traditional age for the sacrament of First Communion and First Reconciliation is what the church defines as "The Age of Reason" or seven years of age. For those that are age 9 and older we offer a separate "Sacrament Catch Up Class" that is geared for their age group. Please contact the formation office at 887-2082, ext. 111 for more information on that preparation.
