Bio for Deacon Ed
Deacon Ed Cody and his wife, Coletta, have resided in Beaver Dam since 1978. They have three adult children and one granddaughter. Coletta is the sacristan for St. Katharine Drexel Parish and manages the Dodge County Food Pantry.
Ed was ordained as a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in 2000 and has been in ministry in Beaver Dam since that time. Deacon Ed serves our parish as chairperson of the human concerns committee, participates in prison ministry at Fox Lake State Correctional Institution, prepares RCIA candidates to enter the church, prepares engaged couples for the Sacrament of Marriage and serves as a resource for married couples who are facing difficulties in their married life (Deacons as First Responders in Pastoral Care for Marriage).
Deacon Ed encourages parishioners to be active in their faith and would appreciate more parishioner involvement in the area of human concerns; to live out our call to practice the corporal works of mercy. If any gentleman has questions about the vocation to be a permanent deacon, Ed is willing to answer questions about the diaconate.
