Mission Outreach to NPH

Parishioners of St. Katharine Drexel Parish:

The Columbus School District has been accumulating desks that are no longer needed in their classrooms and have an extraordinary opportunity to repurpose the used furniture in a wonderful way by donating it to an orphanage school in Central America. A large shipping container has been donated to transport the furniture, but when loaded, there will be more space to fill. St. Katharine Drexel, in conjunction with the Tri-Parishes of Dodge County and St. Jerome’s Catholic School, in Columbus, is working together to fill up the remaining space with contributions of clothing,
school supplies and diapers. Any help you can give by donating items is GREATLY appreciated. Questions can be directed to Gail Nampel.

About the orphanage:
Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) in Honduras is home to more than 500 children from newborn to 18 years old. The mission of NPH is inspired by Christian values and nurtures both orphaned and vulnerable children in a loving, stable, secure family environment. They keep brothers and sisters together and provide a quality education, healthcare, and spiritual formation. They also serve
a vulnerable special-needs population, which often has no other reliable care. They model their values through serving the communities in which they live. With the average wage in Honduras at $4150 per year, the orphanage also provides outreach (including medical care) into the community that is relied upon by the area residents. All of their support comes from donations raised from generous people around the globe.
