An Epiphany Retreat for Wise Women
Epiphany (January 6) is the day we celebrate the coming of the Wise Men to the infant Jesus. In some parts of the world, Epiphany is celebrated as "Women's Christmas." Originating in Ireland, Women's Christmas began as a day when the women, who often carried the domestic responsibilities all year, took Epiphany Day as an occasion to enjoy a break and celebrate together at the end of the holidays.
On January 4, 2020, you are invited to leave behind your responsibilities for a few hours to enjoy the companionship of other women. Honoring our past three parishes, you will be introduced to three very wise women saints from Germany, Ireland, and Poland. We will share a simple meal and spend some time in reflection, pondering where you are in your journey, how you want to travel through this year, what distinctive gift you might offer, and what you need to receive in order to do this. All will leave blessed and gifted!
